One of the endearing features of Mooball is the jersey cow style black and white markings all over the place. The roadside cafe is even called the Moo Moo Cafe. There's a striking pub and old buildings too and the old railway passed right by but alas that's gone too. You used to be able to buy really cheap and fresh local produce here too but that seems to have just about stopped too; likely due to the big reduction in passing traffic. You'd swear the Government is trying to kill these lovely little places (OK I'll get off my soapbox now!).
Update 3 May 2012
Thanks to Stephen who once performed at the Victory Hotel. He tells us:
Circa 1962 I played some gigs at the Victory Hotel Mooball....on my Lowrey Holiday Organ which was
transported in (even then) a rather dilapidated small Commer Utility Vehicle...Often had probems getting up
the steep hill on the Pacific Highway out of Murwillumbah....
Saturday nights there was always a large crowd in the Victory Hotel Lounge....looking at the pictures it is so
good to know the building has hardly changed since "back then"...thanks to your web site I was able to re-visit
this most special place.
